Iza Camarillo
Global Economic & Climate Justice | International Law | Advocacy
International lawyer advancing human rights, climate justice, and accountability in global economic governance.
I am an international trade and investment attorney, researcher, and advocate working at the intersection of economic justice, climate action, and human rights.
My work exposes and challenges the legal and policy frameworks that undermine environmental protection, extractive public finance, human rights, and sovereignty, especially in the Global South.
With a decade of experience spanning high-stakes sovereign litigation, structural policy reform, I use research, advocacy, and strategic legal engagement to reclaim trade as a tool that serves people and the planet.

My Research
I approach each report with the goal of transforming complex and often technical trade issues into compelling narratives that drive advocacy and policy change.
In partnership with frontline communities and civil society organizations, my research focuses on:
The legal architecture of extraction and the climate transition
Trade, investment, and finance law reform for economic sovereignty
Strategic legal interventions: ISDS amicus briefs, treaty mapping, and dual-track human rights litigation
Bridging frontline voices with high-level legal and policy forums
